University authorities flayed on first day
Bhopal, Mar 01: The inaugural day of the Barkatullah examinations initiated with several exam centers both inside the city and others, flaying the University authorities for the compulsion of stapling the answer sheets by college authorities at the exam centre itself. The colleges charged that this time consuming process would disturb the entire exam process. The BU has initiated the process for maintaining complete secrecy.
The Annual examination process got underway at the Barkatullah University at 66 centres and around 1.50 lakhs students on Saturday. The going was not smooth right from the start as several exam centers took strong exception to the BU ruling to staple the answer sheets for hiding the student information like roll number, exam centre etc. Large number of faculties charged that this compulsion might disturb the whole process as stapling leaves time for preparing for the next immediate paper. Exam invigilators charged that there is a gap of 1 hour between three shifts of examinations and added that stapling and submission of sheets to control rooms consume around 30-40 minutes, while they have to start preparing for the next session after half an hour. Faculties also claimed that stapling of sheets makes difficult the checking of each mark sheets with roll numbers.
They also charged that it would make difficult for the exam centre control room for matching the answer sheets with the roll numbers and properly attaching the supplementary sheets. Few centers charged that employees who are delivering the answer sheets are not unloading the sheets and the work is left with the faculties. Later in the day, BU announced new directive that it would be assumed a case of cheating if any mark, sign or threads is found attached with the sheet and invigilators and centre head would be considered responsible. The Authorities at BU later in the day clarified that stapling might be done with the help of class 3 and 4 employees any time during the examination day. BU has also informed that no cases of cheating have been reported from any of the 66 centres.
