Chouhan virtually launches election campaign
Bhopal, May 01: A day after Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan virtually launched his election campaign for November assembly polls, the Congress responded asserting that it will form the next government in Madhya Pradesh. On Thursday, concluding 24-hour fast, the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) stepping up the campaign, sought ‘searching questions’ from Congress led UPA regime at the Centre.
While asking these questions, Chouhan said reply the questions or give right to the people. Political observers believe that BJP’s state-wide agitation Centre’s step-motherly treatment, has made this a national issue. People at district level have come to know that it was Centre’s apathy that they are not getting electricity, food-grains and houses. Taking the situation seriously, the main opposition Congress has come in election mode as well and searching for issues to counter BJP. It has decided to highlight the BJP ministers' corruption among the public. In a meeting held at Ujjain, blowing the bugle for coming Assembly election in Madhya Pradesh, Congress Campaign Committee Chairman Ajay Singh declared that the Congress would form the next government in the state.
Addressing a meeting of divisional workers, he said that the first phase of the election campaign would begin from Ujjain and a strategy would be finalised in this regard. In a sarcastic note he said, “BJP leaders have been enjoying largesse provided by the Centre during last four-and-a-half years and now they are observing one-day fast as atonement. The selection process for party candidates has been started and ticket would be provided to those having clean image only,” Singh added.
