Mass Surya Namaskar on January 12
Bhopal, Jan 02: On January 12, 2008, the birth anniversary of Swami Vivekanand, a mass Surya Namaskar programme would be organised throughout the state at 9 am on the same signal. Instructions would be broadcast on all the primary channels of All India Radio so that people in the entire state can perform Surya Namaskar simultaneously following the signal.
Education Minister Laxman Singh Gaud has urged all the active voluntary organisations and non-government organisations to take part in the Mass Surya Namaskar. Apart from these voluntary organisations and non-government organisations, Shri Gaud has also written to Members of Parliament, MLAs and District Panchayat presidents that though participation in the Mass Surya Namaskar is entirely voluntary, but efforts should be undertaken to ensure maximum participation in the programme for healthy body and mind.
Principal Secretary School Education Indraneel Shankar Dani reviewed the progress of preparations for this programme at Mantralay yesterday. He informed the meeting that the training for Mass Surya Namaskar has been imparted at the development block level through tele-conferencing. Besides, meeting of division and district level officers has been organised at the state level. It was decided at the meeting that teleconferencing should be made again on January 7 for those colleges where training of Mass Surya Namaskar has not been imparted yet.
Instructions were also issued at the meeting to ensure that Surya Namaskar guidebook is sent to all the institutions by January 7. At the same time, emphasis was laid on inspiring participation by Health, Cooperative, Tribal Development and Forest Departments in Mass Surya Namaskar programme. Those present at the meeting included member of state level Mass Suryna Namaskar organising committee Anil Madhav Dave, Principal Secretary School Education Indraneel Shankar Dani, Secretary School Education Manoj Jhanlani, Secretary Public Relations Manoj Shrivastava, Commissioner State Education Centre Radheshyam Julania and Commissioner Public Instructions SN Mishra and director Avadh Kishore Mishra.
