Jakhar for better services to poor
Bhopal, May 02: While praising services being rendered by Madhya Pradesh Red Cross Society to poor people, Governor Balram Jakhar called for intensifying these efforts further to provide better services to mankind. He said that Red Cross should be made poor people's support base. The Governor expressed these views while presiding over a meeting of state level managing committee of Madhya Pradesh Red Cross Society here on Friday.
In his address to the office-bearers and members of the society, Governor Jakhar said that Red Cross should be made support base of the poor people for uplifting them. Expressing satisfaction over the activities of Red Cross in Madhya Pradesh, the Governor said that monitoring of services should be undertaken seriously. He said that service should be rendered with its true spirit. Issuing instructions for grand scale inauguration of Excellence Hospital being built by Red Cross, Jakhar suggested that Red Cross should raise funds once a year for service to the poor.
On this occasion, president of Madhya Pradesh Red Cross Society Mukesh Nayak informed that during the last year, Red Cross Society provided better medicare to about 56 thousand poor and needy people in the state. The meeting was informed that International Federation of Red Cross Societies has included Madhya Pradesh in its disaster management programme. The federation has also provided funds to ensure conferencing of disaster management in Madhya Pradesh. Those present at the meeting included Governor's Secretary KK Singh and OSD RC Dwivedi.
