Healthcare in Van Vihar lauded
Bhopal, May 03: The veterinary experts from US Dr Josva Dean and Dr Scot Citino discussed the health care system at the Van Vihar National Park while interacting with the media persons on Saturday. They Park authorities have roped in both the internationally acclaimed experts for boosting the health care management facilities inside the park.
Under the efforts to promote wild life conservation and hold on to the 'Tiger State' status, the state government in coordination with the forest department and the wild life institute, Dehradun has invited renowned veterinary experts from US for boosting up the health facilities at Van Vihar. Dr Josva expressed satisfaction over the captivation facilities, which facilitates the movement of animals with on and off exhibition system. He suggested that animals should not be exposed to the humans constantly. Terming the health status of the aged animals at par with the humans, he said stressed on special attention to these animals, as they get fragile due to the growing age. He suggested special attention should be given to hygiene in feeding the animals. Stressing on the structure of the Van Vihar he said that it should ensures proper interaction with both the animals and humans and suggested few redesigning in the structure.
On the occasion officials from the wild life institute, Dehradun Dr PK Malik said that research work for wild animals are going on in every national park in the state. He turned down the questions raised over the recent tiger census as inconsequential by saying that all the lates techniques and experts were involved in the census. Veterinary experts from across the country are participating in the two day conference at Van Vihar on wild animal health care management. AK Bhattacharya, Director Van Vihar Bhopal informed that the authorities have placed an order of 9 mobile ambulances to be stationed at various places in the state. He said that these vans would be equipped with all the facilities like medical support, cage and others, for providing much needed medical support to the ailing wild animals across the state any time.
