EOW files case against PWD officer

Bhopal, Mar 04: The State Bureau of Investigation for Economic Offenses (SBIEO) on Tuesday registered a complaint against Superintending Engineer (SE) of the Public Works Department (PWD). After registering the complaint, the Bureau would soon launch investigations to gather clues against the official.

A complaint was lodged against VK Bhugaonkar for allegedly misappropriating government’s funds and adopting irregularities in buying spare parts. Besides, the government official was also alleged of violating norms while inviting tenders and awarding tenders to his acquaintances. The complainant also alleged the official for causing loss in lakhs to the government while getting detailed project reports (DPR) prepared for undertaking several important projects.

The Bureau examined the charges and eventually registered a complaint against the Superintending Engineer of PWD. Inspector General of Police PM Mohan confirmed that a complaint has been registered against the PWD official. Investigations would soon be launched to establish charges by gathering clues, he added.
