Seven Congress spokespersons announced

Bhopal, Apr 04: The Madhya Pradesh Congress on Friday declared team of seven spokespersons and almost all the factions were adjusted to overcome increasing resentment within the party. Former General Secretary Manak Agrawal has been appointed main spokesmen, while other spokesmen are Brijmohan Shrivastava, Chaudhary Rakesh Singh, Arvind Malviya, KK Mishra, JP Dhanopiya and Mukesh Nayak.

Soon after the announcement of new State Congress Committee, Manak who is considered close to Leader of the Opposition Jamuna Devi, had expressed resentment by stopping going to the Congress office. However, he did not make any statement against the leadership. Party sources claimed that being senior most, Manak was appointed main spokesman. Besides, this was also a step to pacify Manak, who always remained active through media and kept defunct Congress alive in past four and a half year. Brijmohan Shrivastava, who is considered close to Member of Parliament Jyotiraditya Scindia, has also been accommodated in the list besides State Congress president Subhash Yadav loyalists Chaudhary Rakesh Singh and Arvind Malviya.

KK Mishra hailing from Indore is close to former PCC president Subhash Yadav, while JP Dhanopiya is close aide of Union minister Arjun Singh and MLA Ajay Singh. Former Minister Mukesh Nayak is known as close to Governor Balram Jakhar. In the Congress Committee declared last month, almost all factions were given representation, but some leaders raised voice. Supporters of all senior party leaders were given place in the committee. Now, with the announcement of spokespersons’ team, it is believed that there is no resentment left among the partymen. However, political observers feel that on caste or religion basis and demand of women could be raised in coming days.
