Tribal students’ scholarship on priority
Bhopal, May 04: From the funds sanctioned for the current year, first of all payments would be made to the students of educational institutions being run by Tribal Welfare Department who were sanctioned scholarships during the year 2007-08. In this connection Commissioner Tribal Welfare Jaideep Govind has issued instruction to Assistant Commissioners Tribal Welfare and District Coordinators.
As per the instructions, funds have been allocated for scholarship schemes have been released for the year 2008-09. Officers have been instructed to ensure payments first of all to those students whose dues for the last year might be outstanding. The officers have also been instructed not to indulge in unnecessary correspondence in this connection. The commissioner has said that in some districts scholarships have been sanctioned through re-appropriation in the third week of March. Such students should be paid scholarships from the current funds. Besides, they have been asked to immediately send information in the prescribed proforma. If no information is received from a district by May 15, it would be presumed that no dues for the year 2007-08 are outstanding there.
The scholarship schemes include scholarships to students from class I to V, state level scholarships for students from class VI to X, Government of India's post-matric scholarships for wards of those whose annual income is up to Rs one lakh eight thousand, state government's post-matric scholarships for wards of those whose annual income is Rs one lakh eight thousand, additional scholarships for hostellers of classes XI and XII and merit scholarships.
