Betul meeting to take Cong to victory
Bhopal, Mar 05: The Dabra (Gwalior) like unity show is likely in Betul in view of treading path of victory in Madhya Pradesh assembly elections. This initiative has been taken by Member of Parliament Jyotiraditya Scindia by giving a proposal in this regard in the meeting at New Delhi. Dabra meet was a high point in the year 1993 when it was held on eve of assembly polls.
A brainchild of Madhavrao Scindia, the event had brought unity in Congress and led to victory in assembly elections. After the appointment of Union minister Suresh Pachauri as state Congress president, need for bring all the senior party leaders from Madhya Pradesh on one platform was being felt. In a meeting of all senior party leaders that held in New Delhi on Tuesday, it was found that a message should be sent statewide that all the leaders are united and working together. Thus it was decided to hold a public meeting in Betul within couple of weeks where all the leaders would participate.
Almost al the party leaders including former state Congress president Subhash Yadav, who was feeling isolated soon after being removed, was also present. AICC General Secretary and in charge of Madhya Pradesh affairs V Narayan Sami had convened the meeting. AICC General Secretary Rahul Gandhi had also attended the meeting for a while. Former State Congress General Secretary Manak Agrawal told that the Betul meeting would be on the line of Dabra meeting and the party will give a message across the state that the partymen are united. “This would certainly help in the party to come in power in forth coming assembly elections,” he added.
