Action on using residential premises
Bhopal, Apr 05: The Principal Secretary, Urban Administration and Development Raghav Chandra has issued instructions to Commissioner, Municipal Corporation, Bhopal to initiate legal action against the people who are found responsible for using residential or public land illegally for non-residential purposes.
Chandra said that in this connection stern action should be taken in a planned way. With a view to making the action plan transparent, it would be widely publicised so that no one can level the charge of partisan attitude in removal of encroachments. He has asked for action against the guilty officers, architects and builders etc. under Municipalities Act. Raghav Chandra has also called for effective step to curb parking on roads in Maharana Pratap Nagar and other markets. Chandra has said that in such cases manifold charge should be realised from the defaulters who park their vehicles at these places. This would deter people and they would park their vehicles at the parking slots only. Parking in front of shops and offices and thoroughfares and narrow lanes should be prohibited in general and action should be ensured against the defaulters.
The Principal Secretary has instructed the Municipal Corporation to proceed in this connection after chalking out a point-wise action plan and keep informing the Urban Administration Department about the action taken by it. Besides, he has also instructed to make arrangements for apprising people about the action plan so that no citizen can complain about partisan attitude. At the same time, action should also be taken against the officers and employees who are found guilty of negligence in discharging their duty.
