BHEL starts ‘Anandam’ in township

Bhopal, Mat 05: After inaugurating ‘Anandam’, an old-age home in BHEL premises, Anil Sachdeva, Director (Human Resources) of the BHEL appreciated the novel step taken by Executive Director, BHEL Bhopal. He called it to be an example not only for other units of BHEL, but for the entire Industry Sector in the country. He said that the aged people today need more of love and kindness from us than economic assistance.

He said that the employees and the Trade Unions in Bhopal unit are very cultured and the industrial relations the unit is an example for all industrial set-ups. Anil Sachdeva inaugurated ‘Anandam’, the home for the senior citizens at Piplani in a simple function. RK Singh, Executive Director, BHEL, Bhopal; Ms Indu Sachdev, Ms Prabha Singh, President of BHEL Ladies Club, Shri. M.C. Prasad (GM- HR), General Managers, representatives of various unions, office bearers of BHEL Ladies Club and large number of BHEL employees and residents of BHEL township were present on this occasion.

Sachdeva visited Swarna Jayanti Block, New Transformer Block and reviewed the progress of work there. He also visited Block-IX (TPTN), Switchgear Block and later on interacted with the cross sections of executives at BHEL Cultural Hall.  Singh in his address highlighted the new steps being initiated by BHEL Bhopal, towards Corporate Social Responsibility. He also appreciated BHEL Ladies Club to have come forward and accept the challenge to run ‘Anandam’. He said that in Indian culture, respect for the elders is foremost. ‘Anandam’, he said is a step towards this direction and has been started with this objective.  Earlier, Prasad described the idea behind establishment of ‘Anandam’ and said that initially about 20 people will live here and Ashram has a capacity of accommodating 40 people. Priority will be given to the needy people who have been in the service of BHEL.   Umesh Singhal, AGM (TAD) proposed vote of thanks whereas Avinash Chandra, Sr Manager (TAD) compeered the programme.
