PS for turning the Schools of Excellence
Bhopal, Apr 06: The Principal Secretary School Education Department MM Upadhyay has formulated ways for turning the Schools of Excellence into the real centre of excellence during the meeting with Principals and Education officials in the capital on Sunday. School Principals have forwarded the problem of shortage of teachers and have demanded revision in entrance test conducted by MP Professional Examination Board.
Principals from Schools of Excellence briefed the PS School Education regarding the 50 percent vacant posts of teachers in their schools. They also added that regular teachers don't respond to the advertisements of recruitment considering them as pressure jobs. Principals also demanded for amendment in the pattern of entrance test for the students saying that the selected students are especially very much poor in English language. They demanded for negative marking system in the test for selecting bright students. Principals demanded the shifting of District Education Office from the school premises at Anuppur and Ashoknagar as it makes difficult for conducting regular classes. Upadhyay directed Rajesh Tiwari, Principal School of Excellence (Subash), Bhopal for preparing a detailed work plan for ferrying teachers to the schools of excellence in South India, Gujarat and Maharashtra for studying their management.
He also suggested to staring private coaching classes in the school premises with the condition that these organizations teach their 50 percent students on discounted fee. PS also directed Principals from schools whose registries are not complete, to get the work done and submit the report within 10-15 days. Upadhyay specifically directed the principals for upgrading the laboratory and get the accounts opened immediately for the ST/ST students receiving scholarships from the government. School Education Department officials like Commissioner BR Naidu, Joint OP Sharma and Rajesh Tiwari Principal Subhash School of Excellence were present in the meeting.
