Ensure benefits of Majdoor Yojana
Bhopal, May 06: The Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the local administration will have to take initiative in order to ensure the benefits of Mukhya Mantri Majdoor Suraksha Yojana to every eligible worker in the state. Registration of agricultural workers numbering 11.29 lakh has so far been completed under the scheme in the state.
Work of registration of remaining farm labourers is being carried out continuously. The process of registration of farm workers will be conducted as a campaign from May 15 to June 15. The Chief Minister while reviewing the progress of Mukhya Mantri Majdoor Suraksha Yojana at a meeting here today said that the State Government accords top priority to provide necessary facilities to the workers in order to improve their living conditions. Under the Mukhya Mantri Majdoor Suraksha Yojana, provisions have been made to extend facilities such as treatment assistance, insurance scheme benefits, marriage assistance, scholarship to wards, and delivery assistance to women workers etc.
The Chief Minister said that in order to ensure effective implementation of the scheme, activities being carried out in the districts should be reviewed every month. At the same time, where the targeted achievement has not been registered under the scheme, action will be taken against the officers concerned, he warned. The meeting was also attended by the Agriculture Minister, Gopal Bharagava, Additional Chief Secretary, Ms Ranjana Chaudhary, Principal Secretary, Agriculture, Pravesh Sharma besides senior officers of the concerning departments.
It was informed at the meeting that photo identity cards have so far been provided to as many as 6,59,195 workers under the scheme in the state. It may be mentioned that the number of farm workers in the state stands at about 74 lakh. Under the scheme, an amount of Rs 1,14,75,000 has been spent on its implementation till the end of last month.
