Air Force recruitment through DEE
Bhopal, May 07: Willing to join Indian Air Force? Get yourself registered with District Employment Exchange (DEE). Thanks to Department of Commerce, Industry and Employment, that has been organizing job fair at district level for recruitment of Airman in coordination with Employment Exchange.
About 242 youths qualified entrance test for the Air Force in last couple of months and soon their dream to be a part of prestigious Force would be realized. The Department of Commerce, Industry and Employment implemented a pilot project during year 2006-07 and 2007-08 to provide placement to unemployed youths registered with the Exchange in private companies. More than 3,000 unemployed people got placements in private firms including Apollo Tyres during the pilot project. Encouraging results inspired the Department to implement the plan across the state and a target of making jobs available to 8,000 people in private companies and 4,000 youths in Air Force was set for financial year 2008-09.
The Force recruits youths as Airman through Airman Selection Centre either by scheduled testing (ST) being conducted at national level or open rally organized at remote places. The Centre, which was set up in Bhopal on October 14, 2005, tied up link with the Employment Exchange last year in a bid to find suitable candidates for the post of Airman. Earlier this year, under the pilot project, scheduled testing and open rally for recruitment of Airman was organized in Khandwa and Rewa in March and April respectively. While, 187 candidates cleared the test in Rewa, 50 candidates emerged successful in Khandwa.
The Centre is also going to organize 3 open rallies and 2 ST till January 2009. While, ST would be held in Bhopal in September and November, open rallies would be organized in Shahdol, Sagar and Rewa in October, December and January. Wing Commander and Commanding Officer of Bhopal Unit Ashutosh Chaturvedi while speaking to The Pioneer said that a survey was conducted in March 2003 to determine representation of various states in the Force and it was found that the Madhya Pradesh share was relatively low. With a view to increase the state’s representation a Unit was set up in Bhopal and tie-up was made with Employment Exchange to select unemployed youths for the Force, he added.
