Patwa submits recommendations

Bhopal, Feb 08: Former Chief Minister Sunderlal Patwa, who is heading the recommendation committee, submitted his report to the state party president on Friday. He has called upon the party workers to get ready for the assembly elections by targeting farmers, tribals, dalits, senior citizens and poor. This nine-member committee was constituted with the objective to make recommendations regarding poll strategy in view of upcoming Assembly Elections in Madhya Pradesh.

The committee was formed during the two-day brainstorming session of the BJP held in Sanchi recently. The recommendations included expanding presence of party in different casts of scheduled castes. Programmes keeping in mind different sections should be orgnaised at division level. Labour cell should be formed to provide benefit of government scheme in favour of farm labourers. Other recommendations to the party included senior party leaders should be given charge of parliamentary constituencies, formation of management committees at division level, special efforts to solve problems of SC-ST students living in hostels, organize meetings of polling booth committees at assembly segment levels, and formation of all committees in view of better election management.

In his recommendations to state government, Patwa said special commission should be formed for nomadic tribes, Boards and corporations running under deficit should be closed, employment to local youths on priority basis in industries, completion of different irrigation projects, arrangements for charging electricity bills on six monthly basis from farmers, providing three phase electricity to farmers at least eight hours per day, and appointment of experienced and full-time Chairman in Electricity Board. Besides, recommendations to install statues local historical figures, at the community buildings constructed in tribal areas.
