Other parties challenge before BJP-Cong
Bhopal, Mar 08: Madhya Pradesh Congress Poll campaign committee Chairman Ajay Singh said that political parties from other states are posing a threat to both BJP and Congress in forth coming assembly elections. Both the parties should take it as a challenge and chalk out strategies, he added.
He was talking to media persons here on Saturday. He claimed that there was no room for any third party in the state. Talking about strategy of Congress, he said that the party's election strategy for the upcoming state elections would be two pronged. “We will go to the people with the achievements of the Congress lead UPA government at the Centre and also bring before the electorate the corruption during the BJP regime,” he said. He stated that the BJP is neck deep in corruption from the grass root to the Chief Minister level. Go to any district and you will find that the BJP leaders have become contractors everywhere, he added.
Singh also denied that there are factions in Madhya Pradesh Congress and said that the party was united to face the BJP. However, he said that there was no room for any third party in the state and totally ruled out any pact with the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP). “I am not in favour of any electoral pact with any party,” he said. To a query, he said that the contribution of the outgoing state Congress president Subhash Yadav can't be denied because all the by-election that the Congress has won last year were contested under his leadership and guidance.
On unprecedented price rise, particularly after this year's Union budget, Ajay Singh defended his party saying, “Prices have been under check and growth unparallel whenever the Congress has been in power at the Centre.” Singh also said that his party would chalk out an appropriate youth policy for the development of youth and work towards empowerment of women.
