Lokayukta for canceling of land allotment

Bhopal, May 08: Lokayukta Ripusudan Dayal recommended cancellation of allotment of two plots to Guruji Seva Trust by Indore Development Authority (IDA) in Indore last year. A copy of recommendation has been sent to Principal Secretary Housing and Environment and IDA Chairman.

The IDA in April 2007 awarded Guruji Seva Trust- a trust said to have close links with the RSS- two plots measuring 4110 sq m and 4376 sq m at Rs 5,200 per sq m. Entire allotment process from opening of tenders to final approval by board of directors of IDA and sanction from the state capital was completed from April 7 to 12. RSS Sarsanghchalak KC Sudershan eventually performed bhoomi pujan for a hospital at the place on April 15 after land allotment.

Later, Congress leader KK Mishra filed a complaint in this regard with the Lokayukta. Earlier, the Lokayukta had questioned the officials including PS Devraj Birdi, IDA Chairman Madhu Verma and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Pramod Gupta. After recording statement of authorities concerned, the Lokayukta eventually recommended the state government to cancel the allotment of two plots to the Guruji Seva Trust in scheme number 54. The PS Housing and Environment and IDA Chairman were also acquainted of the recommendation through missives sent to them.

KK Mishra, MP State Congress Committee spokesperson in his complaint alleged that the plots between Satya Sai School and Bombay Hospital were allotted to the Trust at comparatively lower price causing huge loss to the IDA. He claimed that the land was allotted for Rs 5,200 per sq ft while the adjacent plot has been sold at over Rs 23,000 per sq ft, almost four times than the land allotted to the Trust. Mishra had blamed that the two plots were sold for Rs 4.41 crore where as the market price of this land has been estimated at Rs 25 crore, thereby incurring a loss of Rs 20 crore to the IDA.
