Kapildhara wells would improve lives
Bhopal, Jan 11: Forest and Tribal Welfare Minister Vijay Shah has said that the economic condition of tribal and poor farmers would improve with the digging of Kapildhara wells in their fields. With the view to save farmers from the clutch of loan, the state government is digging Kapildhara wells from its own funds. Shah was addressing residents of remote forest village Anwaliya.
The Forest and Tribal Welfare Minister said that there was a time when a farmer dreamt of digging a well in his field and in the quest of fulfilling their dream they were caught in the clutches of money-lenders and bank loans. On the initiative of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Madhya Pradesh government is digging wells in poor and tribal farmers' fields from its own funds under Kapildhara Yojana. He informed that in Khalwa block 5500 wells are being dug. The Forest Minister also informed villagers of other welfare works being done for farmers living in forest villages.
Forest Minister Vijay Shah reached the village which is situated in a valley about 100 kilometres away from the district headquarters to meet farmers. The tribal villagers welcome Shah in their own traditional style and apprised the minister of their problems. Shah issued instructions to accompanying departmental officers to mitigate the problems identified by the tribal farmers. Later, he inspected the development works at a cost of Rs one crore at forest village Anwaliya. On this occasion he said that village Anwaliya would be developed as a large training centre for tribal farmers by the Forest Department. He said that the farmers would also be imparting training of fish breeding. This training centre would be a residential one. The Forest Minister also issued instructions for developing the village as destination of eco-tourism. Shah ordered for construction of a stop dam across the rivulet, which pass from near the village.
