Inspector’s wife demands CBI probe

Gwalior, May 11: Kusum Bajpai, wife of late Ramakant Bajpai, who allegedly committed suicide in recent past, demanded CBI enquiry into the case. She was talking to the media persons at her residence in Gwalior on Sunday. She also demanded to book Kamlesh Mishra, woman police constable who claimed to be wife of the SHO.   

It may be mentioned here that the Chief Minister has already announced a CID enquiry in the case. Kusum while speaking to scribes said that though she has faith on police but fears that name of senior officials in suicide note might lead to tampering of records. Demanding CBI enquiry into the case, she said that Kamlesh Mishra should be booked immediately as she is responsible for the untimely death of her husband. Remarkably, Kamlesh Mishra earlier had claimed that she is legal wife of Bajpai and a wife cannot take the life of her husband. Kamlesh is reported to be missing since the incident. She claimed the SHO married her on January 1, 2006 at a Shiv Temple located at 27th SAF Battalion in Bhopal. A woman clerk posted with Police headquarters Raj Laxmi reportedly performed the kanyadan.

The affidavit of marriage reportedly was prepared on July 31, 2006 by advocate Khalil Ali Khan. Later, the SHO had reportedly prepared another affidavit on 31 July 2006 by which he transferred the ownership of his property to the Kamlesh Mishra. He allegedly mentions in the affidavit that Kamlesh Mishra would have the right to get his PF and pension. Kamlesh Mishra said that she knew Bajpai from 1996 to 1997 when he was posted ion Shivpuri and their contact continue to grow. Bajpai was transferred to Gwaior and she was also transferred to Gwalior. She claimed that Bajpai was a police officer that could not commit suicide. She alleged that his opponents conspired to poison him. Bajpai had also opened an account in the name of Piyush s/o Kamlesh Mishra in Bhind based state bank of Indore at no. 630058326551.
