Scindia in Marathon race in Gwalior
Gwalior, Apr 14: “I would prove true on your confidence and discharge my responsibility honestly,” said Union Minister of State for Communication and IT Jyotiaditya Scindia while addressing the runners of marathon here on Monday. He further said that he would bring several schemes of development for Gwalior and declared that he would run in the marathon race to be organized next year.
The Udhbhav institute had organized marathon race for saving water and in the memory of late Madhav Rao Scindia. More than 10,000 runners run in the marathon. After distributing prizes to the winners of the competition, Scindia said the youth today is full of energy. The cricket star Gautam Gambhir while addressing the runners said that water has become a problem not only in Gwalior, but in all over the country. The efforts made by Udhbhav are land able. The marathon race was organized in the memory of the late Madhav Rao Scindia with the theme of conservation of water.
The chief guest of the programme Gautam Gambhir, Scindia, Madhavi Raje Scindia, Priyadarshani Raje Scindia, Vice Chancellor SN Mukherjee of LNIPE and Ms T Mukherjee, former minister Balendu Shukla and Deepak Tomar flagged off the marathon from LNIPE. The runners included youth, women and some senior citizens. Before flagging off the marathon dignitaries offered floral tribute to the idols of Maharani Laxmi Bai and Madhav Rao Scindia. On this occasion SN Mukherjee and Ms Mukherjee honored Scindia, Madhviraje Scindia, Priyadarshani Raje Scindia and Gautam Gambhir. Prizes of Rs 1.31 lakh were distributed to the winners of marathon. At the outset the chief patron of Udhbhav delivered welcome address, the programme was conducted by Ms Mamta Sharma, the secretary of Udhbhav.
