Duty with dedication is service to God
Bhopal, Mar 15: The Minister for Minorities, Backward Classes Welfare and Food and Civil Supplies Akhand Pratap Singh said that discharging duty with dedication and sincerity is greatest service to god. He said that everybody should spare some time and efforts for social service. He was addressing a State Level Haj Conference and Felicitation function organized under the auspices of Madhya Pradesh State Haj Committee here today.
Prominent among those present on the occasion included Shahar Quazi Abdul Latif Kasami; chairman of MP Minorities Commission Anwar Mohammad Khan; Commercial Manager of Railways GS Awasthi; Additional Secretary, Backward Classes and Minorities Jabbar Dhakwala; Secretary of Madhya Pradesh Haj Committee Nusrat Mehandi and social worker Shamshuddin. The officials and media persons who extended their cooperation for Haj were also felicitated on the occasion. Singh said that India is a country of diverse religious traditions and beliefs. All religions are held in equal respect. He reiterated the commitment of the state government to welfare of all sections of society. He assured that no effort would be spared to provide better facilities to the Haj pilgrims of Madhya Pradesh.
Shahar Quazi Abdul Latil Kasmi lauded the felicitation of the persons for their cooperation saying that public recognition of any good work encourages recipients of honour to do still better in future. Anwar Mohammad Khan said that it is due to good performance of the State Haj Committee that the Central Haj Committee has honoured it. He informed that the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan is making efforts for starting Haj Terminal and construction of Haj House. He directed the officers to select an undisputed site for construction of Haj House.
Dhakwala assured that the state government would extend all possible cooperation and facilities to Haj pilgrims. An action plan is being formulated for this purpose. Feedback of those who have performed Haj would also be taken. Commercial Manager of Railways Awasthi said that additional bogies were attached to the trains for Haj pilgrims to reach Mumbai. Efforts would be made to inform the State Haj Committee about vacant seats in the trains in future.
Nusrat Mehandi gave an account of the activities and achievements of the Committee. She informed that the State Haj Committee was adjudged the best in the country in year 2007. An action plan is being chalked out to provide better facilities to Haj pilgrims, she added. Kari Mohammad Maqbool Khan recited the Quran on the occasion. Mementos were presented to the guests of the occasion. Assistant Director, Public Relations, Syed Tahir Ali was felicitated for publicity of the Haj programmes and events. Iqbal Masood conducted the function. Nusrat Mehandi proposed a vote of thanks.
