'Adirang' will be held from March 17
Bhopal, Mar 16: Tribal festival 'Adirang' is going to be held on March 17 and 18 at Bhopal Haat by Tribal Research and Development Institute. This time the focus of this two-day festival would be based on world of art of primitive backward tribes. Tribal Welfare and Forest Minister Vijay Shah would inaugurate the meet on March 17 at 7 pm. The function would be presided over by Minister of State for Tribal Welfare Ranjana Baghel.
It may be mentioned that Baiga, Bhariya and Sahariya tribes are known as the most ancient tribes due to their peculiar lifestyle and economic and educational backwardness. A special exhibition titled as 'Adibimb' is also being organised at the two-day meet at Bhopal Haat. The exhibition would display pictures throwing light on the life and culture of Baiga, Bhariya and Sahariya tribes and their works of art. The exhibition would remain open every day after 2 pm. Dance and music programmes would be held from 7 pm everyday during the two-day festival.
Baiga artistes from Dindori (Baiga Chak), Mandla, Balaghat and Anuppur, Bhariya artistes from Patalkot (Chhindwara) and Sahariya artistes from Shivpuri and Sheopur district would render their performances at this music-dance programme. About 200 artistes belonging to these primitive backward tribes would take part in this two-day festival. It would be a rare occasion and opportunity for citizens of Bhopal to get introduced to various shades of the life of rare tribes living in far flung areas of the state for two consecutive day.
