Welfare schemes for poorest sections
Bhopal, Jan 18: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Madhya Pradesh government is implementing with a rapid pace many welfare schemes for the economic uplift of poorest sections of society. Glimpse of God is seen in the service of the downtrodden. Keeping this in view, the state government is undertaking programmes for the welfare of those people who are poorest and are standing in the last row.
On the occasion Chouhan enumerated state government's various welfare schemes including Ladli Laxmi Yojana, Mukhya Mantri Kanyadan Yojana, Godbharai, Annaprashan, poor children's birthday scheme, free books to girl as well as boy students up to class VIII and free school uniforms for girls students. Chouhan was handing over certificates and keys of employment-oriented schemes to 3500 beneficiaries under Muskan programme. The grand function was held at Subhash Excellence School here on Friday.
Chouhan distributed Rs 30,000 each certificates to 888 girls under Ladli Laxmi Yojana, margin money and loan amount to 225 beneficiaries of Urban Development Project, hearing aids, crutches, tricycles, wheel chairs and calipers to 68 challenged persons, marriage assistance amount from Karmkar Kalyan Mandal to 45 labourers, deliver assistance, medical assistance, certificates to 24 members of Antvyavasayi Vikas Sahkari Samiti, certificates to 35 beneficiaries of Swarozgar Yojana, learning vehicle licences to 500 girl and boy students and free spectacles to 500 girl and boy students. Chouhan also handed over tricycles to 217 Kotwars and keys to tractors to many rural beneficiaries.
Chief Minister said that cooperation of all the public representatives including MLAs is being taken in the implementation of the government's welfare programmes. Anganwadi workers can play an important role in conveying the benefits of the state government's welfare schemes to the lowest levels. The Anganwadi workers can also convey people's grievances directly to the government. Chouhan said that utmost efforts are being undertaken to implement government's welfare schemes properly with people's participation to change the fortune of the people and picture of the state. He urged people of the state to contribute their mite in development of the state. Chouhan said that bad quality red wheat is being distributed through Public Distribution Shops by the Union government which is not fit for human consumption. Samples of this wheat have been sent for testing and opposition has been expressed against supply of such poor quality wheat by the Centre.
Chief Minister Chouhan also inspected the exhibition organised at the premises of Subhash Excellence School by Department of Public Relations. He also offered 'Kheer' to children under Godbharai, Annaparashan and Birthday programmes. Chouhan inaugurated newly-built annexe of science department. It has been built at a cost of Rs 28.75 lakh. Chouhan announced assistance worth Rs 25 lakh for construction of science department building's first floor, improvement of field and computerization. Collector Bhopal RK Mathur proposed a vote of thanks.
