Maya charged with insulting Ambedkar

Bhopal, Apr 19: Republication Party of India (RPI-Ambedkar) President has charged the Bahujan Samaj Party Supremo Mayawati of insulting Baba Sahab Ambedkar by installing her statue besides the former. Speaking at a press conference in the capital on Saturday, he charged that Mayawati is trying to project herself at par with greats like Ambedkar.

RPI-A President Mohan Lal Patil accused the UP Chief Minister of resorting to cheap gimmicks for establishing herself as the messiah of dalits. He threatened that Mayawati should voluntarily remove her statues, failing which they would file writ petition with the court and would forcefully remove them along with the Ambedkar followers of UP. He charged that protest followed in all the parts of the country, when Ambedkar’s statue was damaged in UP but the same state failed to generate any movement in this regard. Patil claimed that BSP Supremo has never led any mass agitation dealing with the interests of dalits and added that she attained her status by resorting to caste based politics and using offending language for the historical figures like Mahatma Gandhi.

Patil informed that they would organize a program in Lucknow on April 27 for deciding their future strategy. He informed that their party would form an aggressive unit ‘Ambedkar Sena’ for dealing with the elements insulting Ambedkar. He stated that though Mayawati is not indulging in any direct slur against Ambedkar but she is trying to project herself at par with the latter by installing her parallel statues.
