Congress tribal leaders gathering in Khargone
Bhopal, Dec 04: In view of wooing tribal voters in Khargone Lok Sabha constituencies, tribal leaders from Congress are joining the campaigning trail. Almost all the senior leaders have reached in the constituency in past couple of days. Senior tribal leader Dilip Singh Bhuria who has recently returned to the Congress extensively campaigned in the constituency I past three days. AICC General Secretary and in charge of Madhya Pradesh affairs V Narayan Sami is also visiting different assembly segments in the constituency.
Both the leaders after visiting areas have shouldered responsibility to the local tribal leaders. Besides, Union Minister Kantilal Bhuria and Leader of the Opposition Jamuna Devi visited on Tuesday. Both the leaders addressed over half a dozen public meetings and criticized the ruling BJP in providing benefits of different schemes to them. On the other hand, the BJP has quite a few tribal leaders in Madhya Pradesh. There are only two leaders Minister Vijay Shah and Antar Singh Arya have some stronghold in the region.
In this situation, Congress is taking advantage and scheduled public meetings of tribal leaders in different parts of the constituency. It is also trying to get benefits from the infighting within the Gondwana Gantantra Party (GGP). At least four assembly segments out of eight of the constituency are tribal dominated, and thus the Congress has made such a strategy to reach out to maximum tribal voters. Poll observers claim that tribal votes had always been decisive in the constituency. State Congress general Secretary and Spokesman KK Mishra told that Mahila Congress president Shobha Oza also reached Khargone on Tuesday and address three meetings of tribal women. She would also review the deployment of tribal women at the polling booths.
