Uma seeks RSS help in assembly elecitons
Bhopal, Dec 30: Bharatiya Jan Shakti (BJS) President Uma Bharti demanded that the Rashtriya Swayam Sangh should also provide orgnaisational general secretaries to the BJS like it provides to the BJP. She said the BJS considered RSS like God. She was addressing party workers at a public meeting held here on Sunday. She stated that the RSS has not started saying that it has stopped direct intervention in the political affairs, “But I would like to say, BJS is the original Hindutva party and the RSS should also provide orgnaisaitonal general secretary to us,” she added.
“If we donot want Congress to form government in Madhya pradesh and Chhattisgarh, the RSS should come forth to help the BJS,” she said. Talking about the Gujarat elections, she stated that the BJP should not consider that the Hindutva wave would continue throughout the country after winning Gujarat elections. Corruption would be an issue in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan, while in Chhattisgarh extortion of tribals would be an issue.
“Since, I had come to know that the candidates we fielded in Gujarat were not from our party, I had decided to withdraw them, but the Gujarat state president of the party was adamant on contesting elections with them. Following this, disciplinary action was taken against him,” she added. She openly accepted the problems within her party stating that infighting continues within the orgnaisation and several leaders left the party fold. “I saw them going, even heard noise of the door, but did not pay any heed, because despite their abilities, they could have proved stumbling block in achieving goals due to their nature,” she added.
She further said, “We need three things- support of people, strong workers and strong determination. Out workers should be exemplarily.” She stated that politicians have never taken Madhya Pradesh seriously. “As far as I believe, there have been only four chief ministers who took this state seriously. They include Ravi Shankar Shukla, Arjun Singh, Virendra Sakhlecha and me,” she added. She also praised Congress stating that the Atal Bihari Vajpayee and LK Advani should send second line leadership to learn a lesson of behaviour from Congress because they are more disciplined and well-mannered.
