Probable ouster of Prahlad Patel from BJS
Bhopal, Jan 23: Following differences with Bharatiya Jan Shakti (BJS) president Uma Bharti, former Union Minister Prahlad Patel could not get place in the executive body of the party that was declared on Wednesday. This is being considered probable exit of Patel from the party.
The differences between both the leaders had come to fore during Gujarat assembly elections, when Patel had decided to go against Uma for not withdrawing party candidates from the elections. Uma had publicly announced to withdraw the candidates considering that division of votes would not help Narendra Modi to form government. Talking about this development, Patel said he did not feel hurt with this decision. However, he claimed that he would write to Uma and other executive members about his opinions soon. “In case, the party does not allow me to put forth my views openly, within one week I would be before media and narrate each and every point,” he added.
He further said, “Since, there was no party till date, it was useless to make efforts to talk with the person who is not willing to meet.” He accepted that he does not have any communication with Uma for the past few weeks. Remembering his Guru Shri Baba Shri, Patel said, “My Guruji said you can wake up only the person who is sleeping, but not that who is pretending to sleep.” He claimed that he was still in the party, as a worker, no matter he got space in the executive.
Now, the party which was formed just three years ago, is near factionalism. Prahlad Patel who was considered close lieutenant of Uma, is considered almost out of the party. Political observers believe that Losing Prahlad would be fatal for Uma. The national executive of the party includes Sanghpriya Gautam (swenior vice president), Amar Singh (general secretary), Anita Singh (treasurer) and Begraj Khatana (secretary). The executive members are Subedar Singh, Amrit Tarwala, Laxman Tiwari, Ms Prabha Singh and others.
