Show of strength by Scindia in Gwalior
Gwalior, Jan 23: Member of Parliament from Guna Jyotiraditya Scindia’s exhibition of strength was a grand success in Mohna tehsil of Gwalior district on Wednesday. Over 50,000 farmers from Gwalior-Chambal region participated in the farmers’ convention. Surprisingly, the people had started gathering at the venue right from the morning, despite biting cold in Gwalior. They remained there till 7 pm, when the meeting concluded.
Member of Parliament from Guna Jyotiraditya Scindia said the people of Madhya Pradesh brought the BJP to power in 2003 with clear majority, but with such a majority the BJP Government could not provide electricity, water and roads due to their internal group clashes and corruption. He alleged that the Ministers of BJP Government are minting money while the people are facing several problems. The law and problem has deteriorated. Now, the time is coming the people should understand all these things and up root the BJP Government in the next election. There are four Ministers from Gwalior-Chambal division. The state BJP president from Gwalior but the industrialists and traders of Gwalior are terrorized due to kidnapping. The farmers are not getting water and power and is facing drought for the last five years, he added.
The meeting was presided over by the former minister Balendu Shukla, who was also the chief organizer of the meeting and was represented thrice as the MLA. The attraction of the people for him was the great. MLA’s Satyadev Katare, Ghanshyam and former minister Vitthal Bhai Patel and many were present in the meeting. Scindia said that his family has always remained companion of farmers and labourers during the period of crises I would fight for them with full might and would try my best to get them relief. He said that the Union Government is starting Employment Guarantee Scheme (EGS) for Gwalior from April 1. He praised the Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh for this.
