Project for property documents to villagers
Bhopal, Jan 24: The pilot project for distribution of household property documents to the villagers has been completed successfully after conducting an extensive survey of rural population. The project work had been undertaken in one village of each district in the state, which has now been completed. The distribution of these documents to the residents of these villages would begin soon.
The aforesaid information was given at a review meeting of the Revenue Department held under the chairmanship of the Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan at the Rajya Mantralaya here on Thursday. The Revenue Minister Kamal Patel, Principal Secretary, Revenue, Devendra Singhai; Principal Secretary, Finance, Ashok Das; Principal Secretary, Housing and Environment, Devraj Birdi; Secretary to Chief Minister SPS Parihar and other officers concerned were present at the meeting.
It was pointed out at the meeting that the people living in rural areas are often faced with a number of difficulties in the absence of documents pertaining to household property alike the residents of urban areas. In view of the successful completion of the pilot project, the Chief Minister Chouhan issued instructions for initiating necessary action to complete the task of distribution of the documents in all the villages of the state expeditiously. The State Electronics Development Corporation is finalising one of the three available options such as satellite, aerial photography and ground survey to undertake such exercise.
Moreover, the Chief Minister Chouhan expressed satisfaction over the campaign carried out by the Revenue Department for disposal of cases pertaining to demarcation, mutation and partition. He, however, suggested that there is a need for continuous action with regard to disposal of mutation cases expeditiously. Under the campaign, mutation cases numbering 3.64 lakh have been disposed of. Chouhan further stated that he still receives information about the mutation cases lying pending during his tour of rural areas. The meeting was informed about the implementation of decisions taken at the Kotwar Panchayat. As per the decision, the work of distribution of bicycles to kotwars has already begun, which will be completed by March end.
It was also informed at the meeting that preliminary notification for formation of 14 new tehsils has been issued and the same would be issued soon in respect of Rehti, Tyonda, Mangawan and Badarwas. It was stated at the meeting that directives have been issued for making available copies of khasra and B-1 to account holders once every year. The Chief Minister Chouhan expressed displeasure over the delay in appointment of 29 naib tehsildar selected by the Public Service Commission and promotion of naib tehsildars to the post of tehsildar and issued instructions for calling explanation from the erring officers.
