Vivek Tankha serves notice to Samrite
Bhopal, Mar 24: Advocate Shashank Shekhar on behalf of his client Vivek Tankha, former Advocate General of Madhya Pradesh and independent candidate of Rajya Sabha election, has served legal notice to Samajwadi Party (SP) MLA Kishore Samrite. In the notice, it was stated that Samrite made outrageous and defamatory allegations against Tankha. Besides, on March 14, when Tankha went to file nomination papers, Samrite talked to him and made complaints that Tankha always opposed him in various litigations in the High Court.
The advocate mentioned in the notice that the act of Samrite for giving absurd statements against his client was punishable under section 499/500 of the IPC. Samrite was asked to publish an unconditional and unqualified apology in all the major newspapers of India especially of Madhya Pradesh, retracting all the allegations leveled by him against Tankha. The time limit for doing so was given as 48 hours. It was also warned that failing to do so, advocate Shashank’s client would be free to take legal action against him (Samrite).
Meanwhile, in a meeting of advocates in Bhopal on Monday, it was decided that all the advocates would support Tankha in his fight against Samrite in the bribing case. It was also decided that the advocates might also come to roads to support Tankha. Bhopal Bar Association member Rajkumar Pandey in a statement issued here asked Samrite to seek pardon from Tankha on the issue otherwise he would have to face wrath of advocates on roads.
