Samrite likely to move court

Bhopal, Mar 24: Samajwadi Party legislator Kishore Samrite, who had recently charged Congress leaders for having bribed him for voting in favour of independent candidate Vivek Tankha, claimed he may move court against his suspension from the party on the charge of ‘indiscipline’.

He was recently suspended from the party, after he had accused Congress of offering him a bribe to vote during the Rajya Sabha election. The Samajwadi Party, which has eight members in the state assembly, backed Independent Vivek Tankha, who was propped up by the Congress party. But Samrite, who is a Samajwadi Party legislator, charged the Congress with offering him a bribe to vote for Tankha. Within 24 hours of Samrite’s allegation, the Samajwadi Party’s state president Narayan Tripathi suspended him from the party. “Samrite has been suspended from the party for indiscipline and it has nothing to do with exposing an alleged bribery by the Congress for voting in favour of Tankha in the Rajya Sabha election,” Tripathi added.

Samrite alleged that his suspension was illegal and he might challenge party’s order in the court. In a democracy, the Samajwadi Party leaders should have first issued a show-cause notice and listened to him before taking any action, he added. He stated, “I will fight till the end and, if need be, go to court to seek justice. I have already told the police the facts related to the bribing case and truth will come out soon.”
