Re-densification plan finalized in Bhopal

Bhopal, Mar 27: The state cabinet on Thursday finalized the re-densification plan CBD (Central Business District) of South TT Nagar of Bhopal. For this the sole offer to the tune of Rs 338 crore for 15 acre land was approved. This offer has been given by the sole bidder Messrs Gamon India Ltd.

Under Capital Project single-story residential units were constructed for government employees in the year 1958. In view of development of commercial centre near this area and due to South TT Nagar's commercial importance, the state government had chalked out a plan for a commercial complex in 15 acre land in South TT Nagar. In all, there are 192 'G' type dilapidated houses on this 15 acre land out of which 133 houses have been evacuated and the employees living in them were provided houses in nearby areas. The cabinet has also decided to reimburse Rs 1.50 crore to MP Housing Board which is being spent by the Board on the permanent and temporary construction of school building under the scheme.

The cabinet also endorsed an Aam Admi Bima Yojana (Common man Insurance Scheme) for rural landless families. The cabinet decided to make the Social Justice Department the nodal agency of its implementation at the state level and the zila panchayats at district level. It was decided that the Vivekanand Group Insurance Scheme would continue till March 31, 2008 only. The cabinet approved a protection-cum-development scheme for primitive tribes. The Government of India has provided Rs 10 crore for this scheme. Madhya Pradesh government has drawn up an action plan for three primitive tribes of the state- Saharia, Baiga and Bharia. Funds have been provisioned in proportion of the population of these three tribes in identified villages.

Accordingly, about 65 percent of this fund would be provided for Saharia, 29 percent for Baiga and 5 percent for Bharia tribes. Remaining one percent of the amount has been set aside for implementation, monitoring and evaluation of the scheme at headquarters level. The action plan has been divided into six sectors ie education, health and nutrition, drinking water, agriculture and irrigation, housing and employment.

New structure of Forest Department was also approved. According to it, Forest Department would now have 13,997 posts of Forest Guards, 4,184 posts of Foresters, 1257 posts of Deputy Rangers, 1192 posts of Rangers, 358 posts of Assistance Conservators of Forests, 2,829 posts of clerks, 731 other non-gazetted posts and 24 gazetted posts. Sanction has been given to continue the temporary post of Commissioner Tourism for next five years by the cabinet. Accordingly, the post would continue from March 28, 2008 up to February 28, 2013.
