Emerging Trends in IT and Transformational Initiatives
Indore, Jan 31: The EXE-PGP participants of Indian Institute of Management at Indore organized a Guest Lecture on “Emerging Trends in IT and Transformational Initiatives” on January 31. The speaker of the programme was Neeta Nagar, Global Business Unit Head for Private and Corporate Banking in HCL Technologies Limited.
Nagar spoke on how innovation is driving the future of IT across the world. Nagar emphasized how CEOs and business leaders around the world see increased competitiveness and need to realign business model going forward. The leaders see many things being commoditized and they realize that all roads lead to innovation. With the advent of Internet and the proliferation of semiconductors, trillions of things will end up connected; not just individuals but cars, roads, homes, appliances, health-care data, and pacemakers.
Nagar reflected that innovation is becoming the strategy in an era where cost cutting and consolidation had previously dominated for increasing returns. It is much harder, however to innovate than to reduce costs but there seems no choice but to innovate and transform the way business is conducted, she added. EXEPGP program in one of the flagship programs of IIM Indore and was started in 2002. The program runs for a period of 18 months and has campus components, where students are exposed to classroom teaching and off campus component where students do projects and apply their learning in the industry.
