Voters' list available on website

Bhopal: Voters’ lists for the year 2013 have been made available on the website of Madhya Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer. Voters can check out whether their names are in the lists or not by browsing the website www.ceomadhyapradesh.nic. For this, they will have to insert their name and EPIC card number. If a voter’s name doe not appear on the website after inserting EPIC card number, he will have to get his name included in voters list by filling up Form-6. State Chief Electoral Officer Jaideep Govind has appealed to all the voters in the state to ensure whether their names are present in the list on the website or not. If their names are not present, they should complete formality of filling up Form-6 to get their names included and get photo identity cards. All the polling centres have been given 15 days’ time for inclusion of new names and issuing EPIC cards.
He informed that any voter in any Vidhan Sabha constituency can have duplicate card issued from facilitation centre set up at tahsil office. Form Number-8 can be filled up for getting errors in EPIC cards removed and Form-7 for deletion of names. For getting name transferred from one area to another in a constituency, applicant will have to fill up Form-8. Jaideep Govind informed that if a person’s name is present in electoral rolls and his EPIC card is misplaced or damaged, then he can get duplicate card issued immediately after depositing Rs 25. Timings of voters’ facilitation centres is from 10.30 am to 5.30 pm during working days. The Chief Electoral Officer has also appealed to youths, who are going up complete 18 years of age as on January 1, 2013, to get their names included.
It is noteworthy that office of Madhya Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer is constantly working towards associating common people with electoral process these days. Helpline, website and toll-free number 1950 have been made available to voters at the national level. At the same time, voters’ facilitation centres have been set up at Vidhan Sabha constituency headquarters.
In this way, facility of works related to voters lists and voters’ identity cards will remain available throughout the year. A state-level voters’ facilitation centre is functioning at the office of Chief Electoral Officer at 17, Arera Hills, Bhopal since January. People are submitting applications for issuance of forms, duplicate voters’ identity cards and correction of errors at this office.
