Chief Revenue Commissioner office

Bhopal: The State government has established the office of the Chief Revenue Commissioner at Bhopal for better and systematic management of revenue administration. Its departmental head will be known as Chief Revenue Commissioner, Madhya Pradesh. Principal Secretary Revenue has been posted as Chief Revenue Commissioner. Orders to this effect have been issued. According to the orders, at present the office of the Chief Revenue Commissioner will be based at the office of the Commissioner Rehabilitation at Vindhyachal building, Bhopal and will be shifted to the building of the Relief Commissioner office, after it is constructed.
The power transferred to the Chief Relief Commissioner for ensuring administrative effectiveness and making public-oriented service smooth include- Control over postings of tehsildars, naib tehsildars, promotion, retirement and transfer, posting of Class III and IV employees posted at the offices of the divisional commissioners, collectors and tehsils, maintain records of local and temporary pattas issue on nazul land, notices etc and fixation of premium and lease rent, hearing and disposal of cases pertaining to recovery and applications for exemption.
Other works assigned are- granting permission for acquisition of private land for construction of roads for various major and minor projects and other public projects, determining income of vacant land in the urban area acquired under the provisions of Urban Land Ceiling Act, allotment of surplus land under Agricultural Land Ceiling Act, conversion of private land into land use other than the agriculture use, fixation of premium and its revision. The works related to recovery of land revenue, protection of interests of tribal landowners, Regulation of tree felling in revenue lands, management of nistar lands, meadows, lands of bazaar-haat etc, making available copies of revenue records and making land available to various departments/institutions for the state’s development, have also been assigned to the Bhopal office.
