Bhopal: Chief Judicial Magistrate Court of Bhopal issued fresh non-bailable arrest warrant against former Chairman of Union Carbide Corporation Warren Anderson on the charge of culpable homicide.Anderson was held responsible for worst ever gas disaster occurred in Bhopal on December 3, 1984, in which nearly 25 tonnes of highly toxic methyl isocyanate escaped from a storage vat, is now known to have killed at least 15,000 men, women and children and ruined the lives of half a million more.

Minister for using organic manure

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Agriculture Minister Ramkrishna Kusmaria on Thursday said organic manure would be used in plenty in agricultural processes in the state so as to give it an identity of organic state. “Use of chemical fertilisers is reducing fertility of farms in the state. Hence, it was time to use organic manure in agricultural land. For this, attention has to be paid to animal husbandry,” Kusmaria told reporters here after review of his department.

RTI best ever in World: Justice Habibullah

Bhopal: While addressing the interactive session on ‘Right to Information Act 2005’, organized by PHD Chamber, Wajahat Habibullah, Chief Information Commissioner, Government of India said that RTI Act is the best ever in the world. He also quoted US president Barack Hussein Obama on the requirement of similar Act for making American democracy more transparent and added that India has already enacted this act in 2005.

Junior doctors call off strike

Bhopal: Under immense pressure from State Government, the 10-day-old stir of junior doctors was called off unconditionally on Wednesday. The government has assured to fulfill the demands, but none of the demands were fulfilled till date. The junior doctors who were agitating for their demands including revision of stipend accusing state government responsible for the deaths of over 70 patients in medical college affiliated hospitals, were speechless over the question as who was responsible for the deaths occurred in hospitals.

Teacher arrested for molesting girls

Bhopal: In a shocking incident, a schoolteacher accused of molesting tribal girl students of Class 3 and 5 was arrested on Wednesday in Vidisha district. On receipt of complaint against the teacher Sanjeev Sharma, posted in a school run under the Shiksha Guarantee Scheme in tribal-dominated Nupur Tapra village, the police investigated the issue and registered a criminal case against the offender.

Power tariff hiked by 3.61 per cent

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission (MPERC) has decided to hike power tariff by 3.61 per cent in the current fiscal year. There would be no change in the power tariff of those consumers who use only 30 units per month. Now onwards the power consumers in the state who have the consumption of over 30 units per month would have to shade 3.61 per cent more for getting the power luxury. The commission has estimated a revenue income of Rs. 9252 crores from the entire state.

Construction work to continue in Maheshwar

Probe in CM's cheque dishonour issue

Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Assembly Speaker Ishwardas Rohani on Monday directed Minister of State for Labour Karan Singh Verma in the Assembly to examine the documents provided by Congress member Ajay Singh who alleged that cheques given by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to the labourers in Sidhi district had bounced. Raising this issue through a call attention notice, Singh said the Chief Minister had announced maternity, marriage and medical aid to 324 construction labourers during his inspection at Gulab Sagar Dam Project at Sidhi district's Khaddi area on May 28.
