Bhopal, Mar 05: The Dabra (Gwalior) like unity show is likely in Betul in view of treading path of victory in Madhya Pradesh assembly elections. This initiative has been taken by Member of Parliament Jyotiraditya Scindia by giving a proposal in this regard in the meeting at New Delhi. Dabra meet was a high point in the year 1993 when it was held on eve of assembly polls.

 

Opposition member tear calendar

Bhopal, Mar 05: The Madhya Pradesh Assembly today witnessed an opposition member tearing a copy of a government calendar in protest against an allegedly wrong date, regarding Mahatma Gandhi's life, being printed in it. Samajwadi Party state President Narayan Tripathi waved the calendar, tore it to bits and threw those in the house itself. The dramatic act earned a stern reprimand from Speaker Ishwardas Rohani who described the member's behaviour as unparliamentary.

 

Opposition corners govt on power issue

Bhopal, Mar 05: The main opposition Congress on Wednesday placed the Madhya Pradesh government in the dock over the power issue and staged two walkouts in the Assembly after being dissatisfied with Energy Minister Gaurishankar Shejwar's reply. Ramniwas Rawat of Congress boycotted question hour during which opposition members objected to several points in Shejwar's responses to supplementaries relating to generation and distribution.

 

Strayed panther enters posh area

Ujjain, Mar 05: A panther strayed into a VIP locality in Ujjain on Wednesday morning creating panic among the residents. It first entered into courtyard of District Judge’s house and soon sneaked into DIG’s place. A team from Indore eventually tranquilized the wild cat and took it to Kamla Nehru Zoo for treatment.

 

Making MP a leading state, a mission

Bhopal, Mar 05: The Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that making Madhya Pradesh a leading state of the country is his sole mission in life. CM announced government’s plans to confer land rights on slum dwellers.  He said that the aim would remain unattained until the fruits of development and progress reach the last man in the last row. CM was speaking at a felicitation function organized by the district unit of Bharatiya Janata Party on his 49th birthday here on Wednesday.
