Bhopal, Mar 06: The tribal women of Khushalbardi village in Jhabua district have formed an intra village social awareness group 'Balika Panchayat' which is a vehicle of social changes in tribal pockets. “The sole objective of this Panchayat is to disseminate awareness on village's development and social issues,” Sarpanch Lila Dugar Singh said.

A survey recently conducted by a UN agency in the state revealed that Madhya Pradesh which is one of the four largest states in North India, the literacy rate of female has dipped below one third of the total female population.

 

Maha Shivratri celebrated with fervour

Bhopal, Mar 06: The festival of Maha Shivratri was celebrated with religious fervour across the state on Thursday. Devotees in lakhs thronged in the holy city of Ujjain and Bhojpur, near state capital. On the occasion of 'Mahashivratri' a huge influx of devotees in serpentine rows had 'darshan' of Lord Shiva at this ancient temple town's Mahakaleshar temple, among the 12 jyotirlingas of India.

 

Students to get easy question papers

Bhopal, Mar 06: The students of class V and VIII might get relatively easy question papers in the annual exams this year. It is likely that system of separate question paper and answer sheets might be abolished. The papers would include lesser number of long answer questions to ease out students from exam pressure. The District Institute of Education Training has been assigned with the responsibility of preparing model question papers for both the classes. The Schools would conduct the exams process at their local level from this year onwards.

 

Making MP a leading state, a mission

Bhopal, Mar 06: The Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that making Madhya Pradesh a leading state of the country is his sole mission in life. CM announced government’s plans to confer land rights on slum dwellers.  He said that the aim would remain unattained until the fruits of development and progress reach the last man in the last row. CM was speaking at a felicitation function organized by the district unit of Bharatiya Janata Party on his 49th birthday here on Wednesday.
