Bhopal, Apr 06: Announced with great fanfare in the Railway Budget 2008-09, the scheme to provide 50 per cent concession in ticket fare to AIDS/HIV patients to visit treatment centers seems to have been put in cold storage at least in the state.

No leadership quality

Bhopal, Apr 06: Former Union Minister Prahlad Patel on Sunday said Bharatiya Jan Shakti (BJS) President Uma Bharti did not possess leadership ability. “Ms Bharti wants to merge the BJ with the BJP but I would not allow this to happen. Ms Bharti has an unstable personality and does not possess leadership ability,” said Patel.

Kumar Gandharva Samaroh

Bhopal, Apr 06: A two-day 'Kumar Gandharva Samaroh' -- organised under the joint auspices of Ustad Alauddin Khan Sangeet Evam Kala Academy and the Madhya Pradesh Culture department -- would get underway in Dewas from Monday. Culture Minister Lakshmikant Sharma would inaugurate the programme at Malhar Smriti Mandir in Dewas.

HIV positive people developing network

Bhopal, Apr 06: Registered with a noble cause in 1997 at Chennai, the Indian Network for People Living with AIDS/HIV (INP+) is now strengthening its network in the state to ensure hassle free life to affected people. Hundreds of people living with HIV/AIDS have come together on a common platform under the banner of INP+ braving adversities of life.

MP tops again in NREGS implementation

Bhopal, Apr 06: Madhya Pradesh is at the topmost position in the implementation of National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme. The state tops in all respects including receipt of funds under the scheme from the Union government, its expenditure, creation of mandays of employment and completion of works.

Rs 112 crore for hospital buildings

Bhopal, Apr 06: State Government has made budgetary allocation to the tune of Rs 112 crore for the current financial year for construction of hospital buildings and development of infrastructure there. During the financial year 2007-08, this amount was only Rs 92 crore. This information was given by the Minister for Public Health and Family Welfare, Ajay Vishnoi.
