BJP in election mode, Cong lags behind
Bhopal, May 06: In election-bound Madhya Pradesh, the ruling
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has swung into election mode by
attacking on Congress led UPA, while the state Congress has
hardly got its campaign off the ground. Over the past one week,
Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and the BJP have been busy
attacking the Centre on price rise, and an alleged supply of
substandard wheat and several other issues.
Action plan for road maintenance
Bhopal, May 06: The Minister for Public Works Department Kailash
Vijayvargiya has directed the senior officers to immediately
draw up and execute an action plan to prevent formation of
potholes and cracks on roads during rainy season.
CM reviews drought situation
Bhopal, May 06: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh
Chouhan said no rules would be allowed to come in the way of
tackling drought and drinking water crisis. Chouhan, while
reviewing situation of drought and drinking water at the
Mantralaya here on Tuesday, said drought and drinking water
crisis has to be taken up as a challenge and work has to be
carried out on war footing.
Ensure benefits of Majdoor Yojana
Bhopal, May 06: The Chief Minister
Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the local administration
will have to take initiative in order to ensure the benefits of
Mukhya Mantri Majdoor Suraksha Yojana to every eligible worker
in the state. Registration of agricultural workers numbering
11.29 lakh has so far been completed under the scheme in the
state.
MP govt asked to pay compensation
Bhopal, May 06: The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has
asked the Madhya Pradesh Government to pay Rs two lakh as relief
to the kin of a person who was found dead after having taken to
police station in Guna district. Dharam Swaroop had filed a
complaint with the Commission in 2000, stating that the body of
Shanker Mali was found in a pond near Bajaranjgarh police
station in Guna district on January 23, 2000.
