Miraculous escape

Guna, Mar 08: The Madhya Pradesh High Court Judge had a miraculous escape when a speeding truck collided head-on with his car on Agra-Mumbai National Highway near this district's Barkhedakhurd village on Saturday. The front part of his vehicle was badly damaged but Justice Modi received minor injuries only.

10-kg tumor removed

Jabalpur, Mar 08: A 10-kg tumor has been removed from a 60-year-old woman's stomach at Narsinghpur. Dr DP Singh, who performed the operation, said today that Ms Rukmani Soni complained of stomachache and the tumour was detected at right side of her belly on Friday.

Notification for RS polls

Bhopal, Mar 08: Notification for elections to three Rajya Sabha seats from Madhya Pradesh was issued on Saturday. State Principal Secretary (Assembly) and Returning Officer AK Payasi issued the notification. The process of submitting nomination papers has begun and will conclude on March 15.

Bhopal, Mar 08: A minor dalit girl, who was burnt by four miscreants for protesting eve-teasing, died last night in Shahgarh area of Sagar district. The girl was facing indecent behaviour of the offenders for the past one month, police said. She was undergoing treatment for the past three days after she was set afire for protesting against eve-teasers who had tried to molest her.

Culture heritage is unique: Renuka

Gwalior, Mar 08: The Union Woman and Child Welfare Minister Renuka Chaudhary said, �Our cultural heritage is unique and it is our duty to look after it.� She was speaking as the chief guest in the inaugural function of three-day heritage festival at the floating stage of Baijatal in Motimahal Complex. Bhopal, Mar 08: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that the first Women's Mahapanchayat of the state would be held in April. Chouhan said that an atmosphere is being created in Madhya Pradesh where every day would be Women's Day. The programmes for women's welfare are being launched by Madhya Pradesh government with full intensity and sincerity.
