BJP concentrating on Harda
Bhopal, Apr 08: Ruling Bharatiya
Janata Party (BJP) is leaving little chance to win Betul Lok
Sabha by-election. Considering facts that Harda assembly segment
was week for the party, the BJP is concentrating more on this
segment. Almost all the party leaders are conducting election
meetings in Harda. In the recent past, State BJP president
Narendra Singh Tomar, Ministers Rustam Singh, Gauri Shankar
Shejwar and Ajay Vishnoi have addressed several meetings.
Rs 322.75 crore for
drinking water
Bhopal, Apr 08: Public Health
Engineering Department has proposed an action plan to the tune
of Rs 322.75 crore for drinking water. Out of this amount, Rs
232.44 crore is proposed for rural areas and Rs 90.31 crore for
urban areas. Capacity is also proposed to be enhanced from 40 to
55 litres per day per head in full satiation three thousand
habitats.
Three of a family run over by train
Bhopal, Apr 08: Three-woman members of a family including a
14-month-old girl child were killed while one sustained grievous
injuries when a speeding train ran over them near the Mandideep
railway station on Tuesday morning. The incident was reported
when a mentally challenged woman of the family after alighting
from a train started running towards the speeding Tamil Nadu
express, which was coming from Bhopal.
MP High Court to hear Pardhis case
Bhopal, Apr 08: Madhya Pradesh High
Court has put of for Thursday the hearing on petition demanding
security to Pardhis so that they were able to exercise their
right to franchise during the by-polls being conducted for Betul
Parliamentary seat on April 12. The petitioner, Anurag
Modi of Samajwadi Jan Parishad, had claimed that Pardhis - a
de-notified nomadic tribe of Madhya Pradesh - are being kept at
camps by Betul district administration on the ground.
81.52 lakh for tribal sub-plan
Bhopal, Apr 08: The state
government has released amount to the tune of Rs 81.52 lakh as a
special central grant for the year 2007-08 under Tribal sub-plan
head. These funds have been allotted for primitive tribes. The
government has also issued necessary instructions and directives
for spending the funds to Project Administrative, Integrated
Tribal Project, Baiga and Bhariya Development Authority, and
others.
