Assembly elections in leadership of Shivraj
Bhopal, Jan 09: The ruling BJP will fight upcoming assembly
elections in Madhya Pradesh scheduled to take place in November
this year under the leadership of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh
Chouhan. A proposal to this effect was passed unanimously during
the two-day brainstorming session (Chintan Baithak), to evaluate
the work done by the government in the state in the past four
years, which concluded here on Wednesday.
State govt neglecting farmers: Congress
Bhopal, Jan 09: The Madhya Pradesh Congress on Wednesday charged
the BJP-ruled state government of neglecting drought-affected
farmers and said the party would convey problems of farmers to
the Prime Minister. State Congress President Subhash Yadav told
reporters that more than 150 tahsils in the state were
drought-affected. The peasants were facing troubles due to
damage to crops.
UNICEF to train 776 supervisors
Bhopal, Jan 09: With the cooperation of UNICEF, intensive
training would be imparted to 776 supervisors appointed by Women
and Child Development Department, from January 21 to 26. These
supervisors would be responsible for smooth conduct and
implementation of child development schemes at Anganwadi level.
This training programme is organised at divisional level. Before
this training training would be organised from January 10 to 11
to those who would be imparting training to the newly-appointed
supervisors.

Strategy for land rights to tribals decided
Bhopal, Jan 09: The strategy for implementing Forest Dwellers
Rights' Act regarding schedule tribes and other traditional
forest dwellers has been decided. As per the strategy, weeklong
meetings would be held at villages from January 26 under the
provisions of the Act. Trained nodal officers would hold
discussions on various articles and provisions of the Act at
these village meetings. The state government has issued
instructions to district collectors to take immediate action to
start the process of implementation of the Act and finish the
task within the deadline.
