One crore US $ donation

Mandsaur, May 09: A cheque worth one crore US dollar was found in the donation box of the Pashupatinath temple here. A cheque drawn from a Zimbabwe bank in favour of Bhagwan Pashupatinath was found in the box yesterday as it was opened once a month. Temple Committee sources said the cheque worth more than Rs 40 crore in Indian currency had been handed over to the State Bank of Indore.

300 piped water schemes restarted

Bhopal, May 09: With a view to providing drinking water in drought conditions, the Public Health Engineering Department has restarted 300 piped water schemes which had been lying out of order in the state. Public Health Engineering Minister Choudhary Chandrabhan Singh has issued instructions to department's field officers to undertaken regular visits to areas under their jurisdiction and to give latest information about piped water schemes and hand pumps to the concerning district collector.

13,106 girls benefited under Ladli Laxmi

Bhopal, May 09: A total of 13,106 girls were given the benefit of Ladli Laxmi Yojana during the year 2007-08 in Jabalpur division which is the maximum in the state. The division achieved 259 percent success against the target fixed under the scheme. The scheme is being implemented by the state government with a view to improving educational and economic condition of girls apart from laying the foundation for their bright future.
