Don’t delay payment to employees: CM
Bhopal, Mar 10: The Chief Minister
Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that serious view would be taken of
any inordinate delay in payment of wages to workers engaged in
drought relief works and strict action would be taken against
the concerning officials. Chouhan reviewed the drought, drinking
water and frost situation here today. The Minister for Revenue
Kamal Patel was also present.
Hema Malini performs on the last day
Gwalior, Mar 10: A captivating Bharatanatyam performance by
actor-dancer Hema Malini concluded the first Gwalior Heritage
Festival here. The three-day event came to a close yesterday as
about 5000 people gathered at the Baija Taal, Moti Mahal to
watch the 'Dream Girl's ' performance with her younger daughter
Ahahna Deol, who is an Odissi dancer.
Serious efforts needed for music
Gwalior, Mar 10: The Government should take serious steps
towards giving a better platform for music in India, sarod
maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan has said, showing deep concern
towards insufficient infrastructure for the promotion of music
in the country.
Law and order situation better: Kothari
Bhopal, Mar 10: Madhya Pradesh Home and Transport Minister
Himmat Kothari claimed that law and order situation in the state
was better as compared to other states. Replying to debate over
budgetary demands of Police, Home and Transport departments for
2008-09, Bhargava said Gadaria and Jagjivan Parihar dacoit gangs
had been eliminated during the four-year-old BJP rule. Besides,
a naxalite weapons factory was busted and a naxal camp was
demolished.
EOW presents challan in land scam
Bhopal, Mar 10: The State Bureau of Investigation for Economic
Offenses (EOW) on Monday presented charge-sheet against the six
accused in connection with land scam worth crores before the
Special Judge RK Bhave. The Court granted bail to five accused
while bail plea of prime accused Babulal Sunhere is informed to
be pending with the High Court.
