Campaigning ends, polling on April 12
Bhopal, Apr 10: The high-voltage campaign for the April 12 Betul
Lok Sabha by-election came to an end on Thursday evening with
BJP candidate Hemanth Khandelwal locked in tight race with
Congress nominee Sukhdeo Panse. Despite having better chances,
the BJP left nothing to chance in view of defeat in recent
by-election, and victory in Rajya Sabha election held last
month.
High-tech electioneering in Betul
Bhopal, Apr 10: The helicopters frequently taking off in the sky
and cavalcade of air-conditioned vehicles and enthusiasm of
political workers make it hard to believe that election campaign
is underway for the Lok Sabha by-election in tribal-dominated
Betul constituency in Madhya Pradesh and not a high-profile
constituency.
Cemetery of European mercenaries
Gwalior, Apr 10: Cemetery of European mercenaries who fought for
the Marathas in Gwalior is in shambles as authorities' show
apathy in making proper arrangements for the upkeep of
architecturally captivating graves. The cemetery houses bodies
of the European mercenaries who laid their lives for the Scindia
rulers who in turn gave these heroes befitting abodes by
erecting architecturally beautiful graves adorned with
captivating epitaphs that display information about the
deceased.
CM to inaugurate Investors Meet
Bhopal, Apr 10: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan would
inaugurate Bundelkhand Investors Meet at Sagar on Friday at 11
am. Earlier, he would participate in the programme related to
beautification and environmental development of Sagar Lake under
Lake Conservation Project.
Bina Refinery pipeline almost complete
Bhopal, Apr 10: The work of laying 935 km pipeline from
Wadinagar in Gujarat to Agasod in Bina Tehsil of Sagar district
has almost been completed. The pipeline is being laid to pump
crude oil from Gujarat to Bina Refinery under-construction at
Agasad, 15 km from Bina. This information was given by Minister
for Industry, Jayant Malaiya while reviewing progress of Bina
Refinery's construction.
