‘Friends of Van Vihar’ to help tourists
Bhopal, Apr 13: With a specific aim to boost public
participation in wildlife conservation and generate awareness,
the Van Vihar National Park has appointed volunteers called
'Friends of Van Vihar' to help tourists inside the park. The
park authorities grappling with shortage of man force, have
devised a way for handling the tourists with the help of
volunteers and has formed the group with members from
distinguished field of society. The members of this newly formed
group would act as part time guides for the park visitors.
Report on irregularities in MANIT
Bhopal, Apr 13: The enquiry report into the alleged
irregularities at the Maulana Azad National Institute of
Technology (MANIT) is likely to be submitted during the Board of
Governors (BoG) meeting on April 18. The three-member committee
is enquiring the alleged irregularities in appointments and
promotions. Meanwhile Parakram Jansevi Sansthan (PJS) president
Sharad Singh Kumre has alleged that the outcome was not likely
to unearth the irregularities as the accused officers were still
holding key responsibilities in the institution.
UAD to conduct biometric survey
Bhopal, Apr 13: To assure the identity of the urban poor who are
benefiting from the ongoing pilot projects, the Urban
Administration and Development Department (UAD) is all set to
initiate a biometric survey in the State. The survey would be
carried under the MPUSP scheme work. It will broadly cover all
the 48 districts of Madhya Pradesh.
Scheme for food-grains deferred again
Bhopal, Apr 13: The State Government
due to some unknown reasons has deferred the launch of the Mukhya Mantri
Annapurna Yojana from April 15 in the State capital through which the poor could
procure wheat and rice at reduced rates. The launch has now been scheduled
for April 25. In the beginning it as scheduled on April 8. The matter was pending due to the model code of conduct enforced
during the Betul by-elections.
SP, Left to launch a joint campaign
Bhopal, Apr 13: The Samajwadi Party (SP) and the Left would
launch a joint campaign on April 18 across the State to protest
against the rising inflation and failure of governments to
control it. The BJP also demanded the UPA-led Central Government
to come out with a white paper on the issue.
