BJP retains Betul parliamentary seat
Bhopal, Apr 16: BJP candidate Hemant Khandelwal, who was elected
to the Lok Sabha in the by-election from Betul, led in six of
the eight assembly segments, while his Congress rival Sukhdev
Panse was ahead of his rivals in Harda and Masaud segments.
Betul victory, a breather for BJP
Bhopal, Apr 16: The Betul by-election victory has come out as a
breather for ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). This victory
has charged the BJP and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to
go for assembly elections without any hurdle. Party sources
claimed that this verdict would allow Chief Minister to prepare
grounds for assembly elections freehand. After party's defeat in
Khargone Lok Sabha and Shivpuri, Sanwer and Lanjhi assembly
by-elections, BJP candidates' victory in Rajya Sabha had
provided some relief.

Bhopal, Apr 16: Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan termed the
gesture of Congress General Secretary Rahul Gandhi towards
dalits, as 'vote prem' (love for votes). He said that the
Congress should have taken care of providing relief to the
drought affected people of Bundelkhand.

Sagar, Apr 16: The Minister for
Agriculture and Cooperatives, Gopal Bhargava laid the foundation
stone of Horticulture Professional Training Institute under
Jawaharlal Nehru Agriculture University's Dry Horticulture
Research and Training Centre at village Ranguan of Sagar
district.
