BJP legislators are tense over ‘Modi formula’
Bhopal, Jan 17: The BJP legislators are tense over possibility
of ‘Modi formula’ getting implemented in Madhya Pradesh during
the ticket distribution for assembly elections scheduled in
November this year. In the recently held Chintan Baithak (brain
storming meeting) of party leaders at Sanchi, it was decided
that all ‘non-performing’ MLAs could be denied ticket by
implementing Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi’s formula.
Modi won the elections because he changed almost one third of
the sitting MLAs.
Shivraj urges PM for including districts in study
Bhopal, Jan 17: Chief Minister
Shivraj Singh Chouhan urged the Prime Minister Manmohan Singh
that Satna, Rewa and Sidhi districts of Vindhya region of Madhya
Pradesh should be included in the study for long-term measures
against drought by an inter-ministry central team in six
districts of Bundelkhand region ie Sagar, Damoh, Tikamgarh,
Chhatarpur, Panna and Datia.
More public participation for wildlife
Bhopal, Jan 17: More public
participation would be mobilised in Madhya Pradesh for better
conservation of wildlife. Decision to undertake efforts in this
direction was taken at the general meeting of Madhya Pradesh
Tiger Foundation which was presided over by Forest Minister
Vijay Shah. Minister of State for Forest Narain Singh Kushwah
also took part in the meeting.
Ban on purchases after February 1
Bhopal, Jan 17: In order to check the tendency of hasty
purchases made during last months of financial the state
government has imposed a total ban on government purchases after
February 1 till completion of the current financial year. This
would also rule out the possibility of violation of prescribed
procedures and fiscal discipline in purchases. The ban is
imposed every year in the last months of financial year.
Healthcare for adult wards of gas victims to continue
Bhopal, Jan 17: The Supreme Court
on Thursday stayed a Madhya Pradesh government order depriving
the adult children of the victims of the 1984 Bhopal gas leak
tragedy from availing of free healthcare from six speciality
hospitals built for the affected people. The bench of Chief
Justice KG Balakrishnan, Justice RV Raveendran and Justice JM
Panchal, however, found no harm in the hospitals providing
medical care to general public as well if that was not at the
cost of the victims.
