Official of pharmaceutical company missing
Gwalior, Jan 19: President of a
pharmaceutical company went missing en route on Friday evening.
The man was on his way to Indore from Gwalior after attending
Exportech 2008. The car on which he was traveling was found
abandoned in Dholpur district of Rajasthan. Driver was also
informed to be missing. Though, no ransom call was received till
the last report received but the cops after conducting initial
investigation did not rule out possibility of abduction.
Negligence in cataract operation
Jabalpur, Jan 19: An eye surgeon has been fined for negligently
performing a cataract operation threatening to loss of eyesight.
Jabalpur District Consumer Forum directed the eye surgeon RK
Khare from Jabalpur Medical College to pay Rs 1 lakh to the
complainant. Besides, it also directed the medical practitioner
to pay Rs 1,000 as litigation fee and any delay would cause six
per cent interest.
Efforts of Pune farmers lauded
Bhopal, Jan 19: Bhopal Group for Information and Action on
Saturday applauded efforts of farmers at Pune who stopped the
Dow Chemical from setting up its Rs 400 crore Research and
Development Unit at Chkhan in Pune. Remarkably, residents of 15
villages of Shinde Vasuli, Pune organized as the Bhamchandragarh
Bachao Warkari Farmer Sangharsh Samiti led the protest and sat
on dharna since last two days.
State govt falling short of expectations: Ahmed
Bhopal, Jan 19: Accusing Madhya Pradesh's Bharatiya Janata Party
regime of falling short of public expectation, Union Minister of
State for Communication and Information Technology Shakeel Ahmad
today said people were vexed over several problems including
corruption. “The government has failed on the development, law
and order and minorities' security fronts. Even the chief
minister and his family members are charged with corruption,” he
added.
Welfare schemes for poorest sections
Bhopal, Jan 19: Chief Minister
Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that Madhya Pradesh government is
implementing with a rapid pace many welfare schemes for the
economic uplift of poorest sections of society. Glimpse of God
is seen in the service of the downtrodden. Keeping this in view,
the state government is undertaking programmes for the welfare
of those people who are poorest and are standing in the last
row.
